WHEN YOU NEED A CHIMNEY INSPECTION
ANNUAL INSPECTION
CSIA recommends annual inspection even if you do not use your fireplace. Chimney deterioration happens whether you burn or not.
BUYING OR SELLING A HOME
Level 2 inspection required before property transfer. Protects buyers from hidden chimney hazards.
AFTER A CHIMNEY FIRE
Level 2 inspection assesses damage after any chimney fire event. Do not use until inspected.
SYSTEM CHANGES
When you change fuel type, add an insert, or modify the chimney in any way.
WHAT OUR INSPECTIONS INCLUDE

REAL ESTATE INSPECTIONS
Buying a home with a fireplace? Do not rely on a general home inspector to assess your chimney. Most home inspectors are not trained to identify chimney hazards. A CSIA certified Level 2 inspection gives you a complete picture.
Selling a home? A pre-listing chimney inspection identifies issues before they become negotiation points. Repairs completed in advance protect your sale price.
We provide detailed written reports with photos. Perfect for real estate transactions and insurance claims.
